Aussie Charm Hits Edinburgh Fringe with Woody’s Bush Cabaret.

Dust off your boots and tune up your ukes! Woody’s Bush Cabaret is bringing big laughs, catchy tunes, and puppet-fuelled fun from rural Victoria, Australia, to the world’s biggest stage at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

This 50-minute, family-friendly musical comedy blends interactive storytelling, bushland puppetry, and original Aussie songs in a high-energy show where kids (and playful grown-ups) become part of the action. Filled with outback charm, audiences will sing out loud, dance like animals and leave feeling like bush rockstars—without ever leaving their seats.

Woody Clark is a beloved children’s music specialist, entertainer, and educator known across Australia for his infectious energy and knack for inspiring young musicians. Raised by folk legend Dave Clark, Woody has taught over 10,000 kids through his mobile ukulele school and performed at top-tier events including Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, and Adelaide Fringe.

With his signature blend of bush storytelling, eco-conscious tunes, and heritage charm, Woody draws upon his own upbringing, growing up in the Australian bush, to create a welcoming world where every child feels empowered to make music.

“I love seeing kids discover they can make music,” says Woody, “Woody’s World is all about bringing out that innocent joy in everyone—whether you’re six or sixty-six!”

Mr Woody’s Last Lesson:

“Confessions of a teacher”

Gilded Balloon (Patter House)

1 - 24 AUG @ 16:00 pm

Tickets - HERE

A teacher walks into a bar... and never leaves.

From ABC Kids composer to late-night Fringe burnout,‘Mr Woody’s Last Lesson - Confessions of a Teacher’ is what happens when a wholesome music teacher, Woody Clark, finally breaks. Fresh from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, this 50 minute staffroom spiral will make it’s Edinburgh Fringe debut at Patter House, Gilded Balloon, at 4pm August 1-24.

After 23 years of classroom clichés, clueless parents, and coffee-fuelled patience, Woody is cracking open a bottle and telling it how it is. With foul-mouthed puppet students, dangerously unhinged ukulele solos, and a frank report on the staffroom underworld, this late-arvo meltdown is a love letter to every teacher who's ever dreamed of going rogue.

Woody Clark is a music teacher, comedian, and songwriter who’s spent decades performing for kids and families across Australia. With songs on ABC Kids, years teaching in remote schools, and a cult following for his ukulele antics, Mr. Woody’s Last Lesson is his long-awaited descent into adult comedy. Equal parts cathartic and chaotic, the show is resonating with educators, parents, and anyone who barely survived high school.

“This show is every exhausted teacher’s fantasy,” says Woody. “It’s about finally saying the stuff we’re only meant to think in the car park.”

Woody is a Victorian-based children’s music specialist, entertainer, and teacher with over 23 years of experience surviving music concerts and school camps. Over the years, he’s taught more than 10,000 kids to play the ukulele, performed at some of Australia’s biggest family, toured to remote Aboriginal communities, and even started a family band with his three kids (and somehow stayed sane—mostly). He’s written songs for ABC Kids and is collaborating on a revamp of the ABC Education Sing! songbooks in 2025, all while planning tours to Canada and the UK.
