Woody is a Victorian based song-writer, performer, teacher and producer, who has taught in the classroom, in music education and in the outdoor setting for more than 15 years. As well as touring through Australia with his live shows and mobile ukulele school, he is a consultant in music education for children and teachers. Woody has coached award winning songwriters and mentored young musicians and performers. He has also produced live recordings for artists through his independent record label.
Woody has coordinated various musical projects with his students, the most notable being the reKINDle Project which was a collaboration with fire effected schools and communities following the Black Saturday Fires in 2009. This project involved 400 students and collaborations with prominent musicians including Kutcha Edwards.
Woody’s experiences touring with his family as a child, teaching in the classroom and raising his own musical kids, gives his music a sense of fun, adventure and authenticity that is hard to find in children’s music. Woody performs with his family band (3 generations!), friend and puppets, including 'Hercules the Alley Cat' and Jasmina. He also runs Woody's Ukulele School, works in music education and the creative industries. When his is not performing Woody enjoys early walks along the Yarra River, kiching theball on the soccerfield, cooking and of course playing music with his family.
